FOLIO TRAVELOGUE
Yoga, Goats, and Ocean Views: Only on Maui
I’ll be honest: I didn’t come to Maui looking for goats. But somehow, on a clear morning in Upcountry, I found myself on a yoga mat with one trying to eat my shoelace.
Maui Goat Yoga sounded like one of those things people book because it looks good on Instagram. And it does. The views alone are ridiculous—green pastures sloping down toward the ocean, Haleakalā looming in the background like a friendly giant. But then the goats show up, and the whole thing just… works.
“Goat yoga wasn’t on the itinerary—but it might’ve been the highlight.”
The yoga itself is beginner-friendly—enough movement to feel like you did something, but let’s be real, you’re here for the goats. They climb over you, stare at you, occasionally nap in the sun. It’s chaos in the best way, especially if you’ve spent the rest of your trip bouncing between overpriced spa massages and carefully curated poke bowls.
By the end, you’re stretched out, laughing, and wondering if goat therapy should be a real thing. It’s weird, it’s joyful, and it somehow captures exactly what makes Maui Maui—unexpected, beautiful, and just a little unfiltered.
