This is the kind of ride that sticks with you—not just for the views, which are stunning, but for the pace. It’s just you (and whoever you bring), your guide, and a horse, tracing the edge of the ocean with no one else around. You’ll pass through a corridor of ironwood trees, ride out beside the old polo fields, and make your way to the beach—where the surf rolls in and the Wai‘anae Range looms behind you. Choose a daytime slot for bright, breezy skies or go for the quieter, golden tones of a sunset ride. Either way, this private trail ride gives you rare, unfiltered access to one of O‘ahu’s most beautiful coastal settings.

"This was such an amazing experience, our guide was very personable and patient with our kids. Highly recommend!"

FOLIO TRAVELOGUE
Riding the Shoreline on O‘ahu’s West Side
With three kids and a husband who still thinks he’s a cowboy, we figured a private ride made more sense than trying to blend into a group. Honestly, with five of us, it came out to about the same price—and we got the place to ourselves. From the moment we arrived, it felt less like an activity and more like being let in on a local secret.
“The kids were quiet for once. That says everything.”
The trail starts mellow, winding past a tucked-away polo field and under these towering ironwood trees that form a canopy overhead. It was quiet in that way only remote places can be—just the sound of hooves on soft earth and a breeze moving through the branches. Our guide knew just how to read the group, especially the kids, and gave them enough room to feel brave without ever pushing too hard.
