Fire & Form: Creating Glass on Maui

From the moment you step into the studio, the energy is undeniable—glory holes roaring, artists turning rods, glass glowing like lava. Moana Glass is more than a workspace; it’s a theatre of heat and transformation.

You’ll start by selecting the piece you’d like to make—maybe a rippling floppy bowl, a delicate ornament, or a bold heart sculpture. Next, you’ll pick your colors from a spectrum of glowing pigments. Under careful guidance, you’ll gather molten glass, shape it through breath and motion, and watch as your sculpture takes form.

“Molten glass is alive—you guide it, shape it, and somehow it remembers your touch.”

This isn’t just a souvenir—it’s a moment forged in fire. And while the finished piece will be annealed overnight and shipped later, the memory of that dance with flame stays with you.

Whether you’re celebrating something personal or simply drawn to working with your hands, this experience lands at the perfect intersection of art and presence. Moana Glass makes it feel intimate, grounded, and just a little bit magical.
